Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry is grounded in Jesus’ command to love one another. Through one-to-one caring relationships, those who are hurting receive the love and care they need to support them.

A Stephen Minister helps meet the needs of individuals who are...

  • Hospitalized or disabled
  • Terminally ill
  • Bereaved
  • In a job crisis
  • New members of the church
  • Homebound
  • Lonely
  • In a spiritual crisis

A Stephen Minister is...

  • A child of God who walks beside a hurting
    person
  • A caring Christian friend who really listens
(not a counselor or therapist, problem solver, or casual
    visitor)
  • A lay person who has received 40 hours of
training in how to provide Christ-like care
  • Assigned to a person through the Referrals
Coordinator to meet, with the interested party
  • Trained to provide distinctively Christian care
for the person in strict confidentiality

If you are interested in being a Stephen Minister or would like to have a Stephen Minister to walk along side of you, please contact Care Ministries at 651-429-9227.
