VISION/STRATEGIC PLANNING

Having a clear vision for your church is critical to fulfilling your mission. A vision that is articulated well creates direction for your staff, volunteers and congregation. It explains the "why" behind everything you do. In this workshop series we'll explore and answer the following questions for your church:

  • What do you do best?
  • How do you know if what you are doing is working?
  • Are all the ministry areas in your church aligned and pointed in the same direction?
  • What is your greatest passion?
  • What is the purpose of your church? In other words, why do you exist?
  • What are your values and do they clearly define who you are?
  • Where would you like your church to be in two years and what are the steps to get there?
  • How do you create a vision culture in your church?
  • Can your staff and key volunteers explain your vision culture?

Registration opens in September!

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

Everything about your church rises and falls on its leadership. Paul speaks to leaders in Romans 12:8 and says if God has given you the gift of leadership you are to lead with all diligence. In this workshop series on Leadership Development we will cover topics and questions such as:

  • Self-leadership - what is it like to be on the other side of you? Are people better off for having come into contact with you or do they want to hide from you? Do you build people up or do you leave a wreck behind you? What are your strengths and weaknesses
  • Leading people - helping people discover and develop their strengths and become aware of and manage their weaknesses
  • Turn your annual review process into a leadership development tool
  • Develop your "bench" - how can you pour into your staff and volunteers by giving them information, experiences and coaching to develop their leadership skills?
  • Help everyone on your team develop an individual development plan (IDP)
  • Create a culture of continuous improvement; leaders are never satisfied with "good enough" - they always want more!
  • How to include your senior staff and church board in strategic planning

OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT

The day-to-day operation of a church is an important job. From staffing to budgets and capital campaigns to facilities, Operational Management runs the gamut of job duties. In this workshop series we will cover topics such as:

  • Are you building your budget off the vision God gave your church?
  • Have you left room for the "God factor" in your budget? Are you trusting God to provide or does your budget reflect "just enough" to match the expected rate of giving?
  • Plan for 20% attendance growth and then ask yourself 'What if God gives us that growth?' How would that affect your seating, parking, facilities, kids' space etc...?
  • Learn to prioritize your ministries - budgets don't have to be fair
  • What is your personal level of giving? Are you leading by example?
  • Do you have an effective system for measuring anything you value?
  • Learn how to make your annual meeting about more than just numbers

Registration opens in October!

WEEKEND EXPERIENCE

As churches we have the most profound, exciting and life-changing truth the world has known. We want to present that truth in a way that is inspiring, memorable and exciting, and we have an hour each week to do it! This series of workshops will cover all aspects of the weekend experience: speaking and teaching, worship and music, technical arts and production and what does it feel like to be a visitor at your church. We'll cover topics like:

  • How to define "relevance"? How do you know what is and isn't relevant?
  • How inviting is your building and space? Your parking lot? Your lobby or gathering space? Your signage? Do you have greeters at the entrance?
  • Does your weekend service have a "Wow!" factor or a "Fear" factor?
  • Do you consistently create a weekend experience that people will invite their friends and family to?
  • How can you use technical arts to supplement your programming?
  • Are there creative elements you can use in your weekend service if you don’t have a lot of resources? Or if you are a mid-size or smaller church? How can you get the most out of what you can afford?
  • Are there resources that can be shared by churches - video, scripts, creative ideas?
  • Are your messages not only biblically sound, but applicable to today? Can people walk out of your worship service and have 2 or 3 nuggets to take with them and apply to their lives?
