Some questions you may have...

Will I understand the message, even if I don't know much about the Bible?

Our messages are prepared to connect with people's lives by using the ageless wisdom of Scripture and presenting it in a creative, yet straight-forward way. The services are designed to be easily understood by individuals checking out what it really means to have a personal relationship with Jesus. (But here's a secret: Even long-time Christians find these services invaluable to their spiritual and personal growth.)

What if I come from a different faith background?

While Eagle Brook is "Baptist" in its core beliefs, people who attend Eagle Brook come from a wide variety of faith backgrounds - Catholic, Lutheran, Baptist, Methodist, etc. Together, we focus on biblical truth and teachings, and pursuing an active relationship with Jesus Christ. You don't have to be a member of a specific religious denomination to do that.

Do I have to dress up?

At Eagle Brook you'll see lots of people in jeans and khakis and not so many in suits and dresses. You're welcome to dress casually, and come as you are.

Where are the hymnals?

Here you'll encounter a large variety of worship music styles each week that you can relate to and reflects current culture. The worship team and full band lead attenders in upbeat songs of celebration as well as intimate worship expressions to God. Song lyrics are projected on the sidescreens so you can have your hands free, look up, and engage with the worship.

How do people at Eagle Brook express worship?

"Worship" involves communicating with God from our hearts. We believe in a variety of different expressions in worshiping God. On the platform, you might see worship leaders clapping or raising their hands while they sing and the musicians playing various instruments. Sometimes visual or performing arts are also incorporated into the worship. As an Eagle Brook attender, you are welcome to worship God in a way you feel expresses your heart toward him. For some, that's quietly reflecting on the words, for others, that's clapping and singing out.

Why is the pastor on the sidescreens?

Eagle Brook has a big main worship center and an extended worship area, so during the message the speaker is projected on the screens so people in the back can see him better.

What is a video venue?

We refer to the White Bear Lake and Spring Lake Park campuses as "video venues" because the message is delivered entirely via video, with a life-sized version of the speaker on a large center screen. This video is recorded at the 4 pm Saturday service in Lino Lakes.

Movie clips, drama, and videos - in church?

Often it's helpful during a message to illustrate real life situations through a movie clip, a short dramatic sketch, or a music video. Sometimes these outlets may not be from "Christian" resources per se, but we find secular pieces can also hold great truths about the human condition. We screen the words and subject content closely for use in the church service.

Is there something for the kids?

Eagle Brook has a wonderful program for kids, birth through 5th grade. While parents are peacefully enjoying the service, kids can have fun and learn about God at their level. For location and check-in information, stop by Information Central.

Are you going to hit me up for money?

If you are new to Eagle Brook, please don't feel obligated to give. People will never be pressured to give money here, but regular attenders at Eagle Brook who give, as an act of worship to God, support the many ministries of the local church.

What if I'm not even sure I believe in God?

If you haven't made a decision to accept Christ, but would like to know more about it, you're a seeker. That's a good thing. That means you're asking questions about spiritual things and how they might relate to your life. You are welcome to explore answers to your questions here. We've set up an interactive page you can navigate, answering some of the questions you may have.

How do I get involved?

Attending weekend services is a good start, but we hope you'll move beyond being just part of the weekend crowd. You can further your faith, meet people, and learn more about life as a Christ-follower by joining a group, taking classes, and serving in the church in an area you're interested and gifted in.
