Find out what Sr. Pastor Bob Merritt has to say about baptism.
Are you thinking about getting baptized? Eagle Brook offers several indoor baptisms each year at both the Spring Lake Park and White Bear Lake campuses. We also offer an outdoor baptism in the summer (you can watch your weekend program and check the web for dates).
We think it’s important to note that while some churches sprinkle, baptism by being dunked was the undisputed church practice for the first 1,300 years of church history. In fact, no early denominational church leaders argued that point. The very word “baptism” means “to immerse” and that’s what the Bible records, so Eagle Brook believes that if you’re physically able, you should get completely dunked.
It’s simple. Jesus instructed, “Believe and be baptized.” (Mark 16:16), and that’s what those who chose to follow Jesus did.
Baptism is an outward sign of an inward conversion experience—and it is a celebration into a new life!
Required Next Steps for Baptism
For Children (ages 3-6):
Has your child said “Yes!” to Jesus, making him the Leader of his or her life? If so, and they would like to be baptized, please speak with the Early Childhood Program Coordinator at your campus. If you would like to have your child dedicated, click here for more info.
For Children (grades 1-5):
If your child has said “Yes!” to Jesus and wants to be baptized, the Elementary ministry has created a video specifically for your child to watch before doing so. Click here to watch the video and fill out the corresponding questions.
For Students/Adults:
If you have decided to follow Christ and are ready to be baptized, you can register for the next baptism below. We would also like you to submit your faith story, which you can do here, or on the registration page.
Given the variety of how churches have approached baptism in their tradition, many people have questions about baptism and how to go about it. Click here to find out more answers to FAQs.
Upcoming Outdoor Baptism Dates:
Sunday, August 1, Northwestern College, 3pm (Online registration is now closed. Onsite registration will be available at Northwestern College. Please be there by 2:30 pm if you would still like to be baptized on this date.)
