Kids Care

Zephaniah 3:17 says, "God will take delight in you with gladness. With His love, He will calm your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs."

Kids Care supports kids with disabilities and additional needs ages birth-grade 5 so that they and their grown-ups can attend church and know Jesus!

Types of Assistance
Each Eagle Brook Church location offers two primary types of assistance within the early childhood (Kid-O-Deo) and elementary (Elevate) ministries:

1. Room Assistant
A room assistant is scheduled for each service in the larger group settings (preschool/kindergarten and grades 1-5) to support the large group leader. Room assistant volunteers support kids who may need basic help with attention, sensory needs, redirection, or social interaction. They relate with the kids and are available to interact with parents at pick-up.

2. Side-by-Side Volunteer
For a child who would benefit from a one-on-one volunteer based on higher physical, developmental, or behavioral needs, Side-by-Side (SBS) volunteers are uniquely matched up with interested families. An SBS volunteer works with the family directly and will meet the child for the service and be present with him/her from start to finish, creatively plotting best practices for inclusion. (Ideally, two SBS volunteers will be assigned per one child, alternating serving weeks.)

We are passionate about providing support so that kids and families can get to church and know Jesus!

It is also our goal that kids are:

  • Known, welcomed, loved, and cared for
  • Kept safe (physically, emotionally, and spiritually)
  • Able to hear the message of Christ and follow Jesus!
  • Able to engage with their peer group
  • Siblings able to connect with their peer group and develop relationships apart from their sibling
  • Parents/caregivers have an hour to be still and worship!

Some examples of diagnoses that may be appropriate for Kids Care support include: ADHD, autism, cerebral palsy, developmental delay, Down syndrome, muscular dystrophy, or sensory processing disorder.

If you have a child who would benefit from Kids Care support, please read our parent/child guidelines, then fill out the Kids Care questionnaire so we may be aware of their unique information. You can also stop by the Kids Check-In area to request support.
